But then alas we have the ultimate sin of High Definition confusion from who ever wrote the description,
Scart? Scart? Huh? How the hell are the general public ever going to understand Hi Def TV and Film when they’re confused at point of purchase by the retailer? Anyway basic specs
The blurb says the Firmware is upgradable, hope its via Ethernet and they’ve programed the site address into the Beast, as I cant find a website for Logik. Anyways, you can get the Logik DV-BD1000 Blu-ray player @ Currys \ Dixons \ PC World |

Archive for December, 2008Godzilla, Bluray Pre-OrderHaven’t seen much from Matthew Broderick lately and recently ruled out a sequal of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off saying he’s to old. No problems then, Godzilla on Blu-ray will do, or Jurassic Park comes to New York, unless you want to dig out that old copy of Inspector Gadget. The best thing for me about the DVD version of Godzilla was the soundtrack. On a decent surround system those baby zilla’s screamed out of every speaker. Anyway this Blu-ray version isn’t appearing in many stores for pre-order at the mo’ but the cheapest blu-ray is £11.98 @ Ye Olde Faithfull Amazon.co.uk Due for release on 23/03/2009 Godzilla Synopsis Current Cheapest Blu-ray Prices for Godzilla |

Archive for December, 2008The Punisher, Pre Order Blu-rayAlways been a fan of John Travolta, from his 70’s films to one of my favorites ‘Broken Arrow’ so I can’t quiet understand why I missed The Punisher, maybe it’s just as bad as ‘Battlefield Earth’ and got panned? However looking around its got a few pleasant surprising reviews and a 6.7 on IMDB. Worth a blind purchase when the price drops below a tenner. The cheapest blu-ray price being £11.93 @ the hut there it can wait. Due for release on 09/02/2009 Undercover FBI agent and former Marine Frank Castle (Thomas Jane) is devastated when his wife and children are killed after accidentally witnessing a mafia hit. With nothing left to lose, he decides to dedicate himself fully to the eradication of crime ‘ both organized and otherwise ‘ from America, as an army, assassin, judge and jury all rolled up into one man with a whole lot of guns: The Punisher. Wearing a menacing black battle suit with a white skull emblazoned on his chest, the Punisher first sets his sights on the crime syndicate that was responsible for the murders of his family. Along the way, his vendetta quest leads to the son of Howard Saint (Travolta), a former underworld boss who had gone straight. With the death of his own son, however, Saint has been led back into crime and he’s gunning for the Punisher.

Archive for December, 2008Righteous Kill, Pre Order Blu-rayRobert De Niro and Al Pacino in the same film? Working together? No bit part dialogue, but a full film? Yes! About time too. There were a few mixed reviews for Righteous Kill, but I thought over all it was a fantastic film. Well worthy of a place in your blu-ray collection, the current cheapest Blu-ray price is £15.73 at Lovefilm, but as things change make sure you check the cheapest current blu ray prices below. Due for release on 16/02/2009 A pair of veteran New York City police detectives are on the trail of a vigilante serial killer. After 30 years as partners in the pressure cooker environment of the NYPD, highly decorated Detectives David Fisk and Thomas Cowan should be ready for retirement, but aren’t. Before they can hang up their badges, they are called in to investigate the murder of a notorious pimp, which appears to have ties to a case they solved years before. Like the original murder, the victim is a suspected criminal whose body is found accompanied by a four line poem justifying the killing. When additional crimes take place, it becomes clear the detectives are looking for a serial killer, one who targets criminals that have fallen through the cracks of the judicial system. His mission is to do what the cops can’t do on their own–take the culprits off the streets for good. The similarities between the recent killings and their earlier case raise a nagging question: Did they put the wrong man behind bars?
